In Less Than Five Years the East African Deep Offshore in Mozambique and Tanzania Has Emerged as a Major Natural Gas Province With More Than 60 MMT of LNG Capacity in the Planning Stage.


Initial Indications are That the Costs May be Low But Building All That Capacity in Countries Which are in Such Early Stages of Economic Development Will be a Challenge


The Emerging LNG Surplus Together With the Effect of Falling Oil Prices on Asian Oil-Linked Contract Prices Will Significantly Reduce Price Expectations in Asian Markets


But if East Africa Can Keep its Costs Low, It Will be Well Situated to Compete
