LNG import quotas in Lithuania – breaking Gazprom’s Monopoly

Until 2014, Russia’s Gazprom had a natural gas monopoly in Lithuania. To break the Russian monopoly, the Lithuanian state financed an import terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Klaipeda.
