Europe seaborne LNG imports set more records in 2022. In April, quantities discharged at Europe ports surpassed 10.5 MT for the first time and registered a 39.6% YoY increase.
Overall, voyages increased by over 16.5% between Jan and Apr compared to 2021 levels.
Europe LNG imports from the US over record 4.4m MT last month for a 107.5% YoY boost and a 41.7% market share.
Shipments from Qatar back on the rise, with just under 2m MT delivered in April, overcoming the drop in March, and reclaiming the spot of 2nd largest supplier.
Europe-bound LNG volumes at sea remain high and current discharges in May stand at 55% higher compared to 2021 levels.
While they are showing signs of drying up, there’s a good chance that the 10m MT mark will be exceeded once more by the end of the month.
