Highlights include: 2020 saw the completion of 8 new LNG regasification terminals. 71% of global demand located in Asia. Japan (74.4 MT) remains the top importer, followed by China (68.9 MT, +12%) Australia (77.8 MT) takes over Qatar (77.1 MT) as leading exporter, U.S. is third (44.8 MT). 142.5 MT of LNG imported on a spot or short-term basis (40% of total trade).
