Global LNG imports witness a robust expansion, reaching 33.9Mt.

Figures from the latest Monthly Gas Report show that global LNG imports witnessed a robust expansion, increasing by 4.3% y-o-y to reach 33.9Mt. The primary drivers of this growth were the Asia Pacific and MENA regions. Asia Pacific’s LNG imports hit the highest monthly import volume since January with China making a significant contribution to this increase. Meanwhile, Europe faced its second consecutive y-o-y decline in LNG imports in August, driven by a substantial premium of Asian spot LNG prices over TTF gas prices and high gas storage levels.
