U.S. LNG feedgas flows hit an all-time high this week, with Plaquemines LNG proudly ramping-up its operations and delivering its first LNG cargo to Germany’s Brunsbuttel terminal.
Following limited expansion in 2024, US LNG feedgas supply hit a record high of 420 mcm/d this week.
To put this into perspective: (1) 420 mcm/d equates to roughly 25% of global LNG supply; (2) is more than Russia’s piped gas exports to the EU in 2021.
2025 will be another strong year for US LNG, with growth driven by Plaquemines LNG, Corpus Christi stage 3 expansion and stronger exports expected from Freeport LNG.
The US clearly solidified its position as the world’s largest LNG exporter and a key contributor to global gas supply security.
What is your view? Could US LNG ease market fundamentals already in 2025? How will US LNG supply develop over the medium-term?
