LNG feedgas nominations remain unchanged following yesterday’s recovery, adding credence to the idea that the previous drop to multi-month lows was just a temporary phenomenon.

Political maneuvering around the Biden administration’s pause on LNG exports is continuing unabated. U.S. House leadership is considering integrating language into a Ukraine funding package to encourage the DOE to resume reviewing LNG export applications.

This move comes as the LNG industry seeks to overturn the DOE’s January 26th pause on such exports – a decision reportedly aimed at evaluating environmental, economic, and consumer impacts, though some claim it is mainly a political move ahead of the November election.

While House Speaker Michael Johnson signals openness to facilitating LNG exports to counteract Russian energy influence, so far the White House maintains President Biden’s commitment to the pause, citing climate concerns.
