Make LNG great again: Plaquemines LNG is ramping-up its LNG exports at a record pace, at a time when the market is tight and needs each and every drop of LNG.
Feedgas flows to Plaquemines broke the 2 bcf/d (or 60 mcm/d) threshold last week. To put this into perspective, this is more than Russia’s current piped gas supplies to the European Union (via TurkStream).
Since the start of the year, Plaquemines LNG exported around 4.8 bcm of LNG, alone accounting for more than 95% of global LNG supply growth in Q1 2025.
And virtually all these deliveries ended up in Europe, strengthening the Old Continent’s gas and energy supply security.
Meanwhile, US LNG feedgas flows rose to an all-time high of 450 mcm/d (which is close to Russia’s piped gas exports to the EU before the crisis).
What is your view? How will US LNG exports in the coming years? There is more than 100 bcm/y of LNG export capacity under construction… but could see more projects taking FID under the new administration?
