Venture Global LNG has just secured a five-year agreement for 25% of the regasification capacity at Greece’s new Alexandroupolis floating LNG import facility, starting in 2025.
This deal, announced at the Gastech conference in Houston, allows Venture Global to supply about 1 million metric tons of LNG annually to Central and Eastern European markets.
The company plans to source this LNG from its Plaquemines terminal in Louisiana, which is nearing startup, and its planned CP2 terminal.
Venture Global executives noted that the move expands the company’s presence across the LNG supply chain and is expected to enhance energy diversification and security in the region when the Alexandroupolis facility begins operations early next month.
