(Clipper Data) Two LNG vessels, Arctic Voyager and Arctic Lady, are sailing near the Hammerfest LNG plant at Melkøya, Norway.
As per a press release on the company website, there was a fire in a turbine at the 4.3 MTPA LNG plant which was extinguished at 23:30 CET.
An initial assessment is being carried out to find the cause of the fire, with the timeline for the resumption of production still unknown.
The Hammerfest LNG facility has been undergoing maintenance since September 11, with the last loading reported on September 10, 2020 on Arctic Voyager.
LNG prices have been supported of late by supply issues in the u US and Australia, and this incident is providing further bullish sentiment in the short term.
