The Northeast Asian assessed spot LNG price JKM for the previous week (20 June-24 June) remained high, fluctuating from USD 38/MBtu the previous week to USD 37/MBtu on 24 June.
While buying interest increased in the market, some market participants remained quiet to assess the direction of the price.
The European gas price TTF continued to rise from USD 34.7/MBtu the previous week due to supply uncertainty caused by reduced flows to the Nord Stream gas pipeline and other factors.
It reached USD 40.1/MBtu on 23 June, following the German government’s call to move to the second stage of the gas emergency plan and restrict gas use, but fell to USD 36.9/MBtu on 24 June.
The U.S. gas price HH, changed slightly from USD 6.9/MBtu the previous week, turning downward on 23 June to USD 6.2/MBtu on 24 June.
U.S. natural gas inventories are increasing, although not to the historical five-year average.
