The Northeast Asian assessed spot LNG price JKM for the previous week (4 April – 8 April) fell to USD 31/MBtu from USD 36/MBtu the previous week as the European gas market declined and LNG demand in the Northeast Asian region declined due to rising temperatures, lockdown in China, and other factors, and an increase in sell bids, leading to a downward trend. The European gas price TTF continued to fall from USD 36.3/MBtu the previous week to USD 32.8/MBtu on 8 April due to continued pipeline gas exports from Russia, large supplies of LNG cargoes for the Atlantic, and strong wind power generation in the UK. The U.S. gas price HH rose above USD 6/MBtu in the first half of the week from USD 5.7/MBtu the previous week to USD 6.3/Mbtu on 8 April due to increased gas demand from lower temperatures and increased LNG production.
