LNG demand pushed higher in the past few weeks though it has seen a slight decrease most recently, with today’s estimated -0.7 Bcf/d change bringing net feedgas demand to 12.1 Bcf/d.
Global LNG markets are set to grow by nearly 50% over the next decade, driven by demand from China, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, according to recent commentary from Woodside Energy CEO Meg O’Neill.
Despite concerns about oversupply and China’s economy, demand remains strong, with China securing long-term contracts and emerging importers like Vietnam and the Philippines entering the market. Woodside recently acquired Tellurian and its Driftwood LNG project in Louisiana, now targeting FID in Q1 2025.
